# Member benefits and expectations

###### Lift your practice

Members gain access to a practical learning network that supports stronger delivery, peer exchange and continuous improvement.

Through Communities of Practice, CEO forums, expert input and member-led learning, organisations can strengthen their own work while contributing to clearer sector expectations.

Over time, shared practice markers and benchmarks can provide schools and stakeholders with greater confidence that member organisations are safe, credible, evidence-informed and committed to quality.

From members

Members contribute in a proportionate way: sharing insights, attending key learning opportunities where possible, completing targeted surveys, and applying relevant learnings within their own context. Participation should recognise different organisational sizes, staffing levels and delivery pressures.

###### Build the evidence base

T4Y will support members to strengthen Measurement, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) by sharing good practice, comparing approaches, learning from expert input and improving alignment with school wellbeing frameworks. This is intended to build confidence in what works without forcing members into a single evaluation model.

As the network matures, aggregated and de-identified insights may help demonstrate longer-term impact, identify common outcome measures and strengthen the case for investment in student wellbeing. Member data, case studies and intellectual property should only be used with clear consent and agreed safeguards.

From members

Members share and learn from MEL approaches while retaining ownership of their own frameworks, tools, data and program models. Contributions should support collective learning and sector improvement, not create unnecessary reporting burden or expose commercially sensitive knowledge.

###### School Choice and Engagement

School Choice and Engagement

Members benefit from deeper insight into how schools plan, select and implement wellbeing supports, including the practical realities facing principals, teachers and wellbeing teams.

Over time, T4Y can develop tools and structures that help schools find the right support at the right time, reducing duplication, cold outreach and administrative burden. Any school-facing platform should represent members fairly, avoid inappropriate ranking, and make visible the different strengths, geographies and service models across the network.

From members

Members seek to understand school needs and engage in future tools or platforms when ready. Participation should be transparent, voluntary where appropriate, and designed to support better school-provider matching without compromising organisational independence.

###### Grow partnerships and influence

T4Y gives members a stronger collective voice with schools, government, funders and sector stakeholders. By bringing together organisations with shared purpose, the network can advocate for better investment, clearer quality expectations and more coordinated student wellbeing support.

This collective voice should complement, not override, each member’s own relationships, advocacy and brand.

From you

Members contribute to shared priorities through surveys, consultation, working groups and agreed advocacy opportunities.

T4Y should be clear about who can speak for the network, how member views are gathered, and how public positions are approved. Members will be encouraged to support the collective profile to build awareness and credibility.

### Membership Application

## Membership FAQs

- ### Is T4Y replacing our organisation’s identity or relationships?

No. T4Y is intended to complement each member’s identity, relationships, programs and advocacy. Members remain independent organisations with their own mission, brand, funding strategy, service model and public voice. For example, a youth mentoring organisation could continue promoting its own mentoring model, school partnerships and funder relationships while also participating in T4Y as part of a broader wellbeing network.
- ### What are members expected to contribute?

Members are expected to contribute in practical and proportionate ways through peer learning, selected events, surveys, feedback on tools and shared practice improvement activities. Participation should recognise the size, capacity and delivery demands of each organisation. For example, a smaller organisation might attend one Community of Practice, complete a short member survey and test a draft school engagement tool, while a larger organisation might also join a working group or contribute to a sector learning session.
- ### Will membership create additional reporting burden?

T4Y should support stronger Measurement, Evaluation and Learning without imposing a single reporting model. Any shared reporting should be targeted, useful and proportionate, with a focus on learning and collective evidence rather than compliance for its own sake. For example, members might be invited to share a small number of existing outcome indicators, such as student engagement, confidence, attendance, help-seeking or wellbeing change, rather than creating a new reporting system from scratch.
- ### How will member data be protected?

Member data should only be used with clear consent and appropriate safeguards. Where insights are used for reporting, advocacy or benchmarking, they should generally be de-identified and aggregated so individual organisations, schools or young people are not exposed without permission. For example, T4Y might report that participating members collectively supported a certain number of schools or students, without naming individual students, schools or organisations unless permission has been given.
- ### Who owns our intellectual property?

Members retain ownership of their tools, frameworks, resources, case studies, evaluation methods, program models and other intellectual property. Material shared through T4Y should not be used commercially, publicly or competitively without permission. For example, if a member shares a mentoring curriculum outline, evaluation template or facilitator guide in a learning forum, another member could learn from the discussion but could not copy, rebrand or commercialise that material.
- ### Will T4Y refer schools directly to members?

T4Y may help schools better understand the range of quality supports available, and future tools may support school-provider matching. Any school-facing approach should be transparent, fair and based on fit, geography, quality, service model and school need rather than inappropriate ranking or preference. For example, a school seeking a mentoring program for Year 8 students in a specific region might be shown several suitable member organisations, with information about service focus, location, delivery model and readiness, rather than being directed to one preferred provider.
- ### How will T4Y prevent competition or misuse of member information?

Membership expectations should be clear that the network cannot be used to poach staff, solicit funders, sell to members, misuse confidential information, access intellectual property not willingly shared, or gain unfair commercial advantage. For example, a member should not use information heard in a CEO forum to approach another member’s funder, recruit their staff, undermine their school partnership or replicate their program materials.
- ### How will members influence T4Y’s direction?

T4Y should provide clear pathways for member input through consultation, surveys, working groups, forums or advisory mechanisms. Members should understand how priorities are set, how standards are developed, how public positions are approved and who has final decision-making authority. For example, before T4Y releases a public position on school wellbeing funding or proposed quality markers, members could be invited to review the draft, provide feedback and identify any concerns about wording, evidence or sector implications.
- ### Is T4Y suitable for smaller or community-led organisations?

Yes, provided membership expectations are accessible and proportionate. T4Y should value smaller, community-led and relationship-based organisations that are safe, youth-centred and evidence-informed, even if they have different levels of administrative or evaluation capacity. For example, a local mentoring organisation with strong school relationships but limited evaluation staff could still contribute practice wisdom and participate in shared learning, while receiving support to strengthen evidence and reporting over time.
- ### Can a member leave the network?

Members should be able to resign or step back if the network no longer aligns with their needs, capacity or strategic direction. Exit arrangements should be clear, including how previously shared data, materials, case studies or insights will be handled. For example, if an organisation leaves T4Y, it should know whether its de-identified data remains in historical aggregate reporting, whether its logo is removed from public materials, and whether any case studies require renewed permission to continue using.
